We are here in Capo USD. There's a large crowd, mostly people who are here to oppose racism and hold Trustee Bullockus accountable for her use of a racial slur. Leadership from the OC chapter of NAACP is here.

The thing that gets me is that they always remove people. But in a crowd whose size out numbers that of the trustees and police, why leave? Just drown them out when they try to move on and don't budge when they say to clear the room. Do this every meeting. Bog down the system.

The response of the board in that situation would be to just shut down the meeting and leave, leaving folks in an empty room.

However, more people are leaning into this - both HB and Capo have recently cleared meeting rooms like that and in both cases people were slow to actually comply.

Let them shut down the meeting. Then when they try to hold another one, do it again. Keep doing it. There's more people than police, so they can't hold everyone back. Grind business to a halt.

That's definitely one aspect of peaceful civil disobedience that we'll likely see more of as time goes by. We will always encourage folks to work within coalitions - whatever actions are taken, it's always more effective if you have a team. There are some local groups worth engaging in.

Trump can do whatever the fuck he wants... the thing that is most terrifying to me is the students who were defending the use of the N-word. Thats a far greater concern for the fate of the country. 5 years ago they would have told their parents to STFU and ran that bitch out of town. We're fucked.
