I’m not on anymore either, but I think it’s important to have voices like hers in spaces like TikTok & IG that wld otherwise be completely overrun w/ propaganda & hate. We don’t need more twitter-like echo chambers for people to drown in. 🫶🏼 I just hope she’s careful & heard by ppl who need it most.
Tiktok feels like such a betrayal I haven't been back since last week when they caved the 19th. Letting an app die makes more sense to me but I get what ur saying. 💙
It felt, to me, like to silence myself and cut myself off was to preemptively comply with the regime, which causes all sorts of atrocities to slide. I see where you’re coming from though and it’s just as valid.
To counter — they did what they did to separate us and scare us off from organizing. I stopped using for a while but started again bc I will not be silenced, separated from easy information, or my compatriots. There’s no ethical consumption under capitalism so, pick your battles
You know a lot of that was deliberately sent to us by influencers paid by Mark Zuckerberg… I’m not saying there’s no sense of ship there. They’re always and will likely be more as long as Trump is in office or the app is gone… But a lot of that fear mongering was coming from paid influencers
