Our apartment burned down about a year ago, and then a hit&run nearly totaled our car, and THEN our landlord illegally and without notice threw out everything left and gutted our home; then the past year still happened! AND Keith’s contract ended with the election and no unemployment for 1099.

We're still dealing with insurance pay outs and legal remedies and getting back on our feet after uprooting our whole life. No matter how hard we work or how good our jobs are for any period of time, it's so fragile.

It's a big part of why I am so goddamn frustrated with the party, unsurprisingly. People who seem fine, who are putting on a happy face at daycare pickup or soccer games or the grocery store are STRUGGLING!! It's all a delicate web of shoe strings for so many of us.
