I'll try to only use them if the section of the game is extremely frustrating that I cannot pass no matter what. I tend to go to YouTube videos to get a sense of what to do then try again.
People who buy a Game and Guide at the same time bug me.
What's the point of even playing the game?
Might as well just watch someone stream it...
Anywho, I consider it a cheat and only use them as a last resort when I can't find or complete something.
I'd use guides even more, but I don't wanna gamble my sanity on someone who may not know the difference between left and right, or west and east ever again. ðŸ«
I do Google for guides that help with "missables" specifically nowadays. Missing something I can't go back for drives me nuts, lmao.
I think designers have a hard time walking the line between holding your hand for every little thing and leaving you completely lost. Elden Ring was my first From game, and I had no idea what to do without a guide. But missions in GTA V tell you exactly what to do every step of the way like a child.
I'm trying to use them less now but I'm fighting the final boss in the elden ring dlc and bro I couldn't figure out how to dodge moves because I'd die so quick into phase 2
And it turns out that some of the methods to avoid stuff is so counterintuitive ðŸ˜
This is usually what happens with me. On the rare occasion that I DO look it up. Its always something that wouldn’t have made sense if I didn’t look at guide or would’ve taken an insane amount of time

I'll look up a boss fight to see how to avoid an annoying attack and go "How was I meant to figure that out!?".
