One small thing I envy about gaming culture among women is that they don’t engage in elitism for the most part
If someone only plays The Legend of Zelda and nothing else for example, they don’t really care. They just chillin.

I don't agree, men def tend to be more aggressive and gatekeep. Women tend not to be.
But just like everything else in life there are exceptions and outliers.
It's why generalizations are bad.
I agree there are exceptions. Unfortunately tho, I am not anti-generalization. They can be useful as long as there’s proper context.
They're the enforcers of the Paradox of Tolerance. It seems superficially similar to gatekeeping, but the goal is more inclusion, not less.
it applies to other stuff too. i have a friend who's super into art films but she's not above like, an adam sandler movie or something
But it does sound weird. Never said they couldn’t be weird lol
They’re a “small” group. But disproportionately large when compared to women
Like let people like shit in peace
Enthusiast guys are a lot more prone to “prove yourself” behavior
Real ones aren't shutting down others for their interests. They're just looking for other real ones.
Or did you just wanna post your leaderboard ranking? 😂
It's why spaces like the FGC or Monster Hunter communities can be really cool with the right crowd.
But any large collection of people have the spectrum of personalities you'll run into.
But maybe it’s just because my dad is a nice man and I don’t have an ounce of competitiveness in me.
Dominant demographic will get feistier amongst each other
Angry people hate when others are having fun.
I’ll trade ability thresholds and dps spreadsheets for Elden Ring or EVE Online
