Every chance a bad defeat would have been it for Lopetegui, so that’s an exceptional win. West Ham’s best performance for months. Paqueta back on it, Soler impressive, Antonio huge and Soucek always good for a big goal. Can Lopetegui build on this?

If Lopetegui can resist chopping and changing the team, we might become a tad more consistent. Good performance though. Before the game I thought we might be losing a manager tonight ⚒️
Not to take anything away but, to my very untrained eye, a good West Ham performance just still looks like a good Moyes performance. What am I missing?
Problem was not Moyes' tactics it was the lack of squad depth. They were knackered so not quick enough to counter properly. That's my opinion from watching them anyway. Moyes ball ain't back if you can react quickly. We didn't have that last season.
Looked far more comfortable in possession there tonight, than anything under Moyes. Never felt that we were hanging on to victory. Managed the lead really well.
Feel like we’ve been here before this season. Think Newcastle were unlucky in first half but poor in second half. Good win but we beat a team who was having an off day who failed to take any of their chances.
I thought AWB was more of a threat going forward. Soler, Pacqueta and Soucek were more compact and mobile with some great combinations and the front three all provided speed and width.
Paqueta playing deep with Soler behind the front three seemed to result in more one touch passing through the middle. Both playing to their strengths? There’s an idea.
