Only downside is that Putin knows he will get his territories back when the time comes, but Ukraine won't get all of theirs. So it's great that Kursk Russia is being destroyed and not some Ukrainian town, but at what long term cost?

I don't see Ukraine wanting to keep it's troops in Russia come a ceasefire and the Russians will fortify Kursk immediately with overwhelming forces when available from the east. IMHO I don't think Putin cares when it's given back as it's not valuable land like eastern Ukraine.
