The problem with celebrating the USSR on "Victory Day" is that the USSR and Nazi-Germany started World War II together, as allies with a clear plan for how to divide Europe between them. In Russia this has conveniently been forgotten.

-Morphed their system emulating the Nazis themselves.
-Then use that (fight Nazis) narrative directing it towards any opposition (while hypocritically / ironically acting like definitive Nazis -lies, hypocrisy, discrimination, genocide, oppress)
