Is there a name for works that aren't urban fantasy, aren't really magical realism, where everything is like normal and modern and then There's Some Weird Shit? This might just be horror, but I feel like it doesn't have to be horror.

Paranormal is a good call! I think I was dismissing it because I assumed it kind of meant ghost story specifically, but that's not right, and ghosts do fit into this!
