'Affordable' is a lie anyway, as it stands. A single person on the so-called NLW should be able to afford a home AND still be able to afford a life. I've recently heard the newer term 'genuinely Affordable', but this is also still way off! The affordability crisis needs its own actions. Tell em!

I agree. The current definition of "affordable housing" is a % of average property price in an area. I feel it should be aligned to living costs and earnings instead.

Aah thank you Olly, I never actually knew that's how it was defined! That's bonkers, cos as you say, has zero link or relevance to what the local people actually earn. And every area has cleaners, retail staff, hospitality staff etc. Such a broken system!
