I really like how it came out!

If you wanted the colors more like the original photo, you could try glazing everything below the horizon line with a really dark red-blue color and working a little into the lower clouds.

But if you like it, leave it! 😊 Let it be a new reality

Use orange where your road is blue to darken and neutralize that part. Great job so far. Keep going! 😊

Don't use black. Use complimentary colors (opposites on the color wheel) to create neutral darks. For example, use red orange where your road is green to darken and nutralize that part.

Art teacher, here. I actually see great similarity to your photo. Good job so far! But you're not finished. Don't be afraid of the darks! You need to darken and deepen the values in your painting to match the values in your photograph.

I was thinking that right before I read this. I was painting what I knew the colors to be in broad daylight instead of what I was actually seeing in my photo.

Save it & paint it again at least 6 months from now. You’d be surprised how much u will grow in that time. I started in 2020 & reflecting back has given me so much confidence in my skills. This one is the 1st time I repainted an earlier piece. You got this!
