He's right they don't need it, and many parents have chosen for them not to. Just like phones, they all don't have to have them. Growing up in social housing myself, I know what he means. Social media can do harm. Ask some parents who have lost children to suicide due to not feeling worthy.

What a silly thing for him to say. When I was a kid back in the day people would say that things were great when the milkman came round with a horse and Cart and I followed him to sweep up the shit to fertilise our Rose garden.
