*NEW* The Hinton Emergency Department will be CLOSED as of 9pm TONIGHT Jan 6 until 7am Jan 4th. ED also closing Jan 7 & 9th. Closure due to No Physician/Locum coverage available. RNs remain in ED to triage ONLY Emergency/Priority Patients for EMS Transport. (Cont.) /2

NOTE - Hinton Emergency is a Primary Stroke Center (PSC) for North Zone - This means stroke patients will have to be diverted to Royal Alex (287KM) or U of A Hospital (292KM) by EMS or Air Ambulance. All other Emergency patients will be diverted to Edson (89KM). /3

*NEW* Rocky Mountain House has CLOSED it's Emergency Department, as of 4pm due to no available physician or locum coverage. The ED will remain closed until 7am Jan 7 - ED also to close from 4pm Jan 7 until 8am Jan 8th. (Cont.) /4

RN's remain in ED to assess Emergency/high priority patients for EMS transfer. EMS & Patients are being diverted to Sundre (81KM), Rimbey (75KM), Red Deer Regional Hospital (84KM). Residents with emergencies asked to call 911 / Non emergent to call 811. /5

RN's will remain in ED to triage Emergency/Priority patients & to arrange transport via EMS to Athabasca (95KM), St. Therese (St. Paul (122KM) or Ft. Sask (190KM). Patients urged to call 911 for Emergencies, those with non urgent matters are asked to call 811. /7
