My aeonium, who I burned to cinders about 6 months ago, has thrived since I fixed her watering and light situation. I’m getting better at succulents!

It gets better: aeoniums stink only to SOME noses. I do not grow them for this reason. Indoors in winter? Just...no.

Do you mean that if it stinks to me the same plant will smell pleasantly, or just different, or not at all? Now I'm off to search how they make themselves stinky.

Pretty much. I remember a lengthy discussion on the old GardenWeb forum (RIP) about how much aeoniums stink. Apparently, some people do not smell it, some people do.

My aeonium doesn’t stink as far as I can tell. I didn’t know that was a common problem…

Covid destroyed much of my sense of smell, but I’ve never had complaints from anyone else. My partner is fussy so I feel like I’d have been told off for it already 😂
