I am getting ready to apply for SS since I reach full retirement age shortly. looking at my SSA account today, if i am reading correctly, my employers and I have paid $125,700. into the program. I will take that in a lump sum payment then, thank you very much. just give me what is owed to me.

Social Security Admin has been understaffed for 50 years. Now they are cutting half the staff that is there.

They have been doing a great job so far given their underfunding and understaffing. But now that Musk is cutting it further, things are going to get a lot worse.
