Sports chat is definitely not the same on Bsky compared to Twitter.

But definitely can't trust the flow of 'news' anymore from Twitter hence why many of us are on Bsky instead.

I really really want BlueSky to work, hate to still be on Twitter especially since Jan. 20, but there’s still so much more there for sports and a decent few reputable journalists :/

I think it's just based on the greater audience. Realistically, the only reason I'm on either platform is to follow the news from people I trust in sports, and still hard news I'm critical of, but trust from journalists I'm confident in.

For me, the sports and news coverage isn't there on BS yet.

I'm not surprised by your answer. What can people do to convince more sports reporters to join Bluesky or cross-post? Some news reporters have left Twitter for moral reasons, but it hasn't been common in sports.

For example, @richarddeitsch.bsky.social has pointed out the lack of WNBA presence here

Agree with @bensteiner00.bsky.social. Bluesky isn't close to X yet for sports & news as far as mass/impact. I'll keep arguing Bsky's best bet for sports is cross-posting and then a slow pickoff of users (if that even happens). If I was Bsky, I'd cater aggressively to niche/smaller sport communities.

All of the major outlets, leagues, clubs and influencers have sunk so much time, energy and money into building up their Twitter followings that they're afraid of having to write it all off as sunk costs and starting from zero elsewhere, especially on a platform like BSky that doesn't have ads.

I've dumped Twitter, most of the twitter sports have ported over, and I don't need to here from those who haven't. As for news, I've given up trusting anything from twitter.

Twitter is run by someone who is actively looking to subvert Canadian democracy and sovereignty. Losing the sports discussion on that platform is a small price to pay to protect Canada.
