Even the wonderful coach bit could be argued against. Like getting the cheats on a football management sim, getting all the best players in, and then playing 2-3-5 formation and winning 10 nil. That's not genius tactics, it's the inevitable result of unlimited budgets and lack of equal competition

Agreed. He's a coach not a manager. He's never had to manage. It's an insult to managers at all levels to call him one. He walked into Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets & Pedro in his very first job. He's had opulent luxury wherever he's gone. Never had to cut cloth accordingly. Wonderful coach though

Two wins and they are three points behind Liverpool. Out of form yes, but they have Villa, Everton and Leicester before January. I’d put my house on them winning all three, then it’s January and they sign a midfielder and, boom, they are title favourites again

Part of the problem is the indecision on his exit, and the short contract extensions. Consequently, some shorter term squad planning which has meant the team has been allowed to age under his watch - old in key areas - Gundogan, Walker, De Bruyne, Silva, Stones, Kovetic

If he's that brilliant a manager divorced from the advantages of powerful clubs with bottomless pockets, let him take on the Southampton job.
Then we can see if he's really a genius, or if he's just a very lucky boy.
