Yeah and it’s visibly blurry (though how much it is due tu little memory and how much due to ray tracing is an open question). But I would prefer crisp image over ray tracing if it was the cause of blurriness in that title on XSS.

Yes, but direction is clearly to use RT to lessen the work needed to make baked lightning etc. So I assume in couple years this is normal for AAA games. Indies will cater to older HW.
I know that this is the direction. Discussion is that it's too early for such move because RT can look worse than previous solutions on PCs of 50% PC gamers who have too weak GPUs to use proper RT.
Could be. How many of those gamers would by these AAA games anyway? Maybe GTA VI will the game that will force people to upgrade, in 2026 or something.
I wonder if publishers bet will pay off (same number of people as before will buy those new games and will simply suffer with worse graphics or will grudgingly shell out money for better one) or sales will fall (especially with simultaneous moves for higher default price)
