Six months ago, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall pulled out of an agreed £25m move to Brighton at the last minute in favour of joining Chelsea

5 (FIVE) Premier League appearances totalling 55 (FIFTY FIVE) minutes later and Chelsea have made Dewsbury-Hall available for transfer in January

He was following a manager who he’d just won the league with & had absolute confidence in him.He would have been offered a higher salary & the pull of living in London.Chelsea were awful at the time&he may of felt he could be part of the new era.Great team Brighton,but there are always other factors

We pay lower wages than we used to, (more bonus £ focused payments it seems), but yea guessing maybe more that Leicester still. Did seem an odd move, but your spot on with your appraisal I’d say 👍🏼

Players are now being moved around like pawns so clubs can stick to PSR spending and avoid points deductions. KDH was academy graduate at Leicester, so his sale was booked as pure profit for them to avoid a PSR breach. Leicester returned favour by signing 18yr Micheal Golding from Chelsea for 5m.

Could be an even better deal for Brighton now, demanding a loan with obligation to buy at lower than last summer.
Something tells me Chelsea will need to make more moves before the PSR deadline come late June

I think he'd have stayed at Leicester given the chance but our PSR issues meant he had to go. Plus, the Maresca factor would've played a part too. Shame, I'd love him to come home!

It’s staggers me that numerous players continued to sign for Chelsea with an already inflated squad. Some will have simply backed themselves to be good enough, others will have seen the money or been convinced by their agents.

But it’s good news for Chelsea, as they keep those that make the grade and sell off those who don’t at similar values to what they paid, as most are young, were often courted by other teams originally, and have resale values similar to what was paid.
