The fascism-laundering NYT is at it again. This piece gushes about the novel idea that conservative Christians are an oppressed minority without once pointing out that they've had outsized influence in American politics for at least four decades.

I feel like I'm most offended by the idea that he's somehow a genius for formulating the idea that Christians are being persecuted. That idea has been part of the Christian consciousness for 2000 years.
Poor widdle evangelicals have to suffer through some people not liking them just because they have captured one of the two major political parties (the one that happens to have structural advantages despite having fewer supporters) and are using that power to go directly against Jesus' teachings.
Interspersed with the fawning over this guy's oppression complex is a glowing description of seeming utopia Carmel, IN. The article never mentions the city's racial makeup, but since it's such a great place, I assumed it was open to all people. Imagine my surprise when I looked up the census data!
