Please enlighten us as to your understandings of AEW's storylines and narrative devices, in order to get a sense of what you're talking about here... and no, SaudiSlam's 30-minute opening promo segments don't count as good storytelling.
You do realize the own hart cup tournament is the story in this case right? Like what exactly is the royal rumble or elimination chamber? Those aren’t stories then right? So 4 matches at mania have gimmicks as to why the match is happening since competitions aren’t stories?
Ok, I'm going to pretend you're acting in good faith here, and are merely ignorant. One of the main purposes of tournaments is they are a storytelling device or framework that can be used to START multiple stories. The G1 and Champion's Carnival being long term examples of this.
That’s fine. You not gonna change my mind. Still think you don’t understand what stories are though. Something can’t be compelling when you clearly don’t watch….

Someone else in this thread articulated it much better than you could. Take a seat outside and stay there.
By your logic, the Royal Rumbles are just a bunch of people stuck together, that aren't doing anything compelling.
Rumble for the spectacle and the cavalcade of random rasslers.
My point is that Aew storylines dont seem very compelling or good at creating hype based on what I have heard.
