(and other conferences).
Comments
For:
- encourages more comprehensive work
- aligns with community preprint trends
- eliminates need for supplemental materials which are often confusing
- does not create artificial incentive to write confusing terse narratives
Against:
- Will increase the reviewer burden (but market effects will likely balance that)
- Page limits encourages good writing discipline
- May create burdens for low-resourced authors
I mean, eg, let's take a paper / idea everyone clearly thinks is impactful. Transformers... But, have you, umm, read the Attention is all you need paper? Impossible to understand.
Imho there's no clear answer, but the other extreme, like Shinichi Mochizuki's unchecked works, has downsides
