That's interesting + rare. I didn't do birthright, but went to a religious private school that did a trip to Israel in middle school. For me the impact was neutral. Didn't change my feelings one way or the other. But a lot of my classmates became more religious (b/c western wall) and more Zionist.
I figured lol. Our trip did not take us to the West Bank. But we did do an overnight at a Bedouin camp where our teachers told us they were “good Muslims” who helped report terrorists to Israel. Didn’t stop my classmates from casually referring to Arab people as “sand n*”.
But I've also always been contrarian and never got along with most of my peers, which I think insulated me from the group think the trip pushed/encouraged.
