Well… I missed the cardigan drop…
And I couldn’t afford the OG cardigan when it came out.
So instead, I taught myself how to knit and made my own!
Bluesky hasn’t seen it yet, so now felt like a good time to share hihi

It was a perfect project to make over Christmas break
jk, but thank you so much!!
my best estimate is that i started learning at some point in september and i know started knitting the cardigan on december 23rd
And for sure one 💯% better quality than the og.
No I'm not, but you can get it for free from lion brand! It's called the folklore cardigan💗
I have been considering it, yes! Just looking out for some :)
I don’t find knitting to be more difficult than crochet, so I’m sure you could absolutely learn it! 🩷
Can I ask what yarn you used? I'm considering making another one!
as a sweater vest lover, i fear i need to copy you😍
Yes, I used the “folklore cardigan” pattern by lion brand! It’s free and pretty easy to follow 🫶
I knit my own ttpd cardigan and made it the bolter version because why not 🙂↕️

Yours looks incredible as well!!🫶
I made myself a midnights/1989 cardigan with the lionbrand pattern with a matching one for my cat (he hates it 😭) and I used such a bad yarn (doubled) and it's too heavy 🫣
Oh noooo!!!😭 The yarn is such an important aspect! Mine is also quite heavy, so I've ben contemplating making another one with different yarn, but idk what to choose😅

Amazing!!!! Great job!
i mostly followed youtube videos! the pattern is from lion brand(its free), and if there were things i wasn't sure about how to do, i would look them up on yt.
i prefer continental knitting style (it's about how you hold your needles), but you should do what feels right to you <3
thank you so much!
And a reminder that there's no right or wrong beginner project! I've never made a scarf, since I would have no motivation for it. Instead I made dishrags, perfect for practice!
well.... it's 100% wool(with alpaca, so its super soft) and meticulously stitched together by hand, so that sounds plausible🤭
the pattern i used was lion brand, it's free!
I think it’s something I can actually do and finish😅
I'll keep an eye out for it when you do🥰
It at least wins in one aspect; it’s 100% wool, no plastic in sight haha
Thank you so much🫶
It took me about a week and a half - two weeks, as I knit it over Christmas
There's a pattern online yeah! It's called folklore cardigan, from lion brand - and it's free!
the yarn i used is DROPS nepal, because i wanted 100% natural fibres, but it does get heavy so a blend would probably be good. it's hard to tell you what exact size needles to get since it depends on your tension
Thank you so much!!🫶
I used the lion brand pattern, if you want to look into it :)
