I spoke with dentist, "jawline surgery comes with risk attached" I was told. I feel I didn't receive a clear answer if it would have benefitted me through it is it was appropriate.
I have a different jaw issue, I can't remember what it's called and it's only just come on a few weeks ago
Gp said the treatment is Botox, but it doesn't always work and if it goes wrong it can fuck up your whole face and he's not going to recommend it until every other avenue has been tried
Yes, there are various types of guards and retainers around! I've had a soft guards, though I've been recommended a slightly longer term approach with an overnight bite guard splint which helps would help to level my bite. I need to check on the name though. I've never considered Botox though!
That's not enough information is it. You need what risk/likelihood to determine if it's worth it for you. If you can afford private treatment maybe get a consultation with a surgeon or three?
I do get the impression my dentist is used to having patients who may not ask enough questions about these things. Having a consultation is useful, though I've no idea if it was ever proposed when had orthodontics!

I don't know if the stuff you'd need would be Botox or something else, but there definitely seems to be a lot of risks with trying to fix Jaws
