The first wave of Millenials were like 10 when this song was released. It'd be like GenX claiming Staying Alive - sure, we know the song and it's pretty cool, but it wasn't really ours.
This is true, and thank you for saying it. Not that Gen X has to own everything or that it matters too much, but it's nice to have SOMETHING be ours, as opposed to having 100% of the music we listened to claimed by people who were literally children at the time.
