Critical stipulation here: the cat owner needs to be a responsible pet parent who, among other things, doesn’t let their pet outside unsupervised. Too many people learn the hard way that a ~15lbs domesticated animal has a lot to worry about when it’s outside.
I don't "love" them....I'm a dog person. But when we got married, my wife forced me into a blood transfusion to raise my "C-level". Now, my lap attracts the lil bastards and some sort of pre-rigged emotional trap triggers and I find myself petting them for some reason....and there's the purring.
I love horses, my grandparents used to live out next to a ranch that had them and I'd always find time to visit the horses and feed them some produce. I feel a profound level of respect for them.
Yes, you have to have patience with cats and give them affection on their own terms. If someone can't do that, it's definitely sus. (Do people still say sus? Idk I'm old)
no but they literally are, cats set more boundaries than like dogs and someone's response to that ('ugh cats are assholes' etc.) is usually indicative of their response to the same from other humans
Mine was a feral cat, rescued when she was a baby but.. she’s never really integrated into house cat life well, and she’s special needs because she had a little kitty stroke at only a few weeks old. So… she’s stuck with me whether she likes it or not lol
As someone who loves both cats and dogs because I grew up around both, it shows love towards all animals! In my eyes, double green flag!! 💚💚 (Sorry about the dude who called you a red flag for liking dogs BTW; they're the red flag 😬)
