I've been actually thinking about it since I haven't played it since launch (2006?) and I didn't really fully explore the world. I remember the music being epic as FUCK
It’s definitely one of the most underrated FFs. I think it gets knocked down in people’s minds because Vaan completely and totally sucks, but everything else is aces.
IMO, only one fight was really tough. Two others were a bit grindy because of the health pool, but all in all I enjoyed it and never really felt like i was going too far out of my way
I want to explore the game more. It was one of the first games that I played where my mindset was different. I shifted from playing single player games for 3 hours and dropping to finishing them.
It's my favourite. By some margin. I'm currently right at like the last break to finish up all the side quests and decide which, if any, of the basically impossible Ultimate weapons I want to gather, and get the rest of the espers and stuff.
Never played XII but XIII also seems to be in that hated-at-launch-loved-over-time category and I really enjoyed that when I finally got around to playing it.
It’s the last final fantasy in the series I played. I wasn’t sure about the combat system at first, but it grew on me. Wound up really enjoying it overall.

I rushed it a bit lol
I'll have to fit XII in at some point.
