I feel like this rail system is just an unnecessary thing. Vietnam already has a robust rail network. Makes you wonder who’s behind the push for faster and more convenient things. For the record, I’m against all high speed rail even here. Stolen land and all that.

I’m aware 😂 I’m just asking if Vietnam is doing this of its own accord, or under pressure from outside forces. The raw materials needed, plus the amount of land clearing (given the terrain) creates quite the boon for heavy industry. Apologies if I’m coming across judgemental.

It is a mistake to project the kinds of things that happen in North America upon at Communist country like Vietnam.
