THIS! This is one of the social issues I try so hard to explain to others. That there is a better way for EVERYONE. Ugh. Universal healthcare does not serve one political party or race or gender or identity or economic class or need…it’s for all of us.
The insurance industry, through its attorneys, has as many words to say the word "no" to their policyholders as the proverbial Eskimos had for the word "snow." If anyone knows how many of these attorneys the insurance industry employ throughout the U.S., it would be an interesting factoid.
The United States is also one of the few democratic countries in the world that doesn’t have universal healthcare. Cheap affordable healthcare for everyone however you can choose to have insurance if you wish.
It wasn’t really created to defraud people it was meant to eliminate risk, because eliminating risk guarantees profit which is of course the goal of any for profit corporation
