Harry Potter? Considering Joanne is a fucking shitty writer that doesn't think things through with her own world building? Sure. HP could be a cop but that's more an indictment to the writer than the character, if you catch my drift.

I was gonna make a statement about how, at least in the Avatar universe there's no real prejudicial origins of policing but I almost COMPLETELY forgot the way people would react to fire nation citizens or the separation of nations.
In retro, it was always odd that the last 2 or so books had the characters faced with a procession of adults with authority & institutions (who looked the other way when fascists went back to their old lives/positions of privilige after the 1st insurgency) who were too busy navel gazing &
lashing out in paranoid self interest to prevent the government from collapsing almost overnight to the second insurgency, then the epilogue hits and apperently the main characters all handed their resumes in to these same institions.
Like, Harry looks at how spineless and also explicitly bigoted wizard society/cops are and is like "wow, well now that the Only Bad Guy is dead, I really wanna help enforce the status quo!" And it is weirdly consistent with how he never takes a moral stance
I don't remember too much from the series from a youth of when those books came out but something that always comes to mind is how after winning the final fight, Harry's first thought is "Gosh, I hope my slave brings me a sandwich".

DW being a cop makes SENSE in all the worst ways. All my homies don't fuck with DW. No wonder Arthur bopped her ass.
This is an ACAB household ESPECIALLY DW.
DW: The kind of person you DON'T want to see being a cop
So... if police HAD to exist? I agree.
Then there was basically the secret police of ba sing se...
