I've just been bitten by an inch ant. Twice: once on the ankle and once on my left thumb. Have taken two antihistamines, wiped the bite sites with alcohol swabs and put ice packs on the bites. And sworn profusely. Anything else? (I don't have any alcohol or chocolate in the house) - ThreadSky

Yes. The first time on my ankle and then on my thumb when I instinctively reached down to touch my ankle. I'm thankful that it was one ant and not two otherwise I could have ended up with twice the volume of venom. Also, I haven't acquired any superpowers. Lying movies, can't trust 'em

I really find it unlikely they'd make a story like that up! Maybe it just takes a bit of time to kick-in...or maybe it's because you don't have the suit?? Obviously that ant was trying to pass something onto you with two bites.

A simple remedy here is to avoid these ants entirely.

Taking a clue from our fearless leaders you should vehemently deny that these creatures are ants and that ants bite at all.

Our fearless leaders would be correct; the inch ant stung rather than bit me. The mark it left has almost vanished (three weeks and five days later)
