Yeah, I’ve used a recovery program and I’ve gotten some but not all and even some of the stuff “recovered” the files are corrupted, so they have missing pixels or bleeding pixels, or they can’t even read the file at all.

It’s the worst. I thought the backup to backup were good but you just never know. I have since learned and investing in a NAS Raid. Storage has been more of my focus as an artist and learning better archiving methods that will outlast modern tech.
Also film photography too as I have the negatives.

Can I ask what happened to the drive? Was it physically damaged, ot was it something like a corrupted drive due to bad sectors or accidental format?

I recently formatted a backup drive by mistake, and learned a LOT about data recovery options. If you still have the drive, there still may be hope!

I’ve spent a ton of money on hard drive recovery programs. Even with them they still don’t recover it all. Bad sectors is for 1 and the other 2 they unmounted themselves on their own. Known issue with that model hard drives. I wont format them. I have a couple others that won’t even turn on.
