The reason why so many can’t read above 5th grade level, is because school districts use outdated reading materials that don’t teach children with dysleksi and other learning disabilities how to read! The rich put their kids in private schools while the poor are left to fight an uphill battle!

I read to my children growing up and now I read to my grandkids. My kids are quite literate and I'm hoping it passes onto the grandchildren as well. Many times I go to see them, the 2 year old brings me a book to read and i read to the 10 month old as she tries to chew the pages. It's a start

I recently heard that the average MAGA voter has a reading level that is between 3rd and 5th grade, on average. I am grateful that my mom instilled the loving of reading in me early on. When I was in 6th grade, I was reading at a 10th grade level. No wonder they want to cut education spending!!
