To academic folk: would you consider making public a review you received for a manuscript you submitted to a “high-ranking” journal if you thought that its level of superficiality was almost insulting to the work of your trainees?

One would expect of a "high-ranking" journal to have adequately trained editorial staff in place. Our editor had just finished a PhD on a completely unrelated topic - no surprise he didn't understand even basics of Drosophila genetics. And appeals are pointless, because they already looked at it.
