Helped Sargamis to come to terms with his faith and send him to Deadfire to help, Statue was given to "The Voice". Favorite quest so far, it reminded me a lot of Eder's arc with Eothas in 2 and how faith can produce so much anguish to an individual, specially Sargamis with his envy of Waidwen. a lot
Oh, I remember now, I killed Sagamis and destroyed the robot 🤣 I saw that there's an achievement you can get there, can't wait to get it in my second playthrough.
Kate, I also wanted to ask you, the shouts our character say when using magic are in Latin?
Most of the spellcasting phrases are spoken in an in-universe language called Engwithan. The godlike-specific abilities in Avowed use a different (spoilery) in-universe language.
Convinced him to sacrifice himself as he deserved to die, but not by my hand. And did not give the statue over for our diety. I was skeptical of our God and even through the game did not side with them, so I am glad that decision lined up. Plus, I didn’t think it would work anyway
I saw Sargamis had a cool sword so I had to talk him into blowing himself up with unethical magic. Then the Voice asked nicely for the statue so I couldn't say no. This seemed right at the time,
Letting my husband play without my input. He convinced Sargamis to sacrifice himself and he wants to give the Voice the "giant robot." He is all in on giant robot.
I convinced Sarganis to sacrifice himself then let the voice take over the statue. It really took me by surprise how intricate it was as a dungeon. It's a really effective way to introduce machinery and the godlike concept. Looking forward to seeing the ramifications. Was this your vertical slice?
I’m glad you enjoyed it! This wasn’t our vertical slice, no. I heard the Triple Click folks speculating that it might be, that was fun to hear. This dungeon was actually the last quest we made for game.
That's where I heard it yeah! That was a really fun podcast and I'm completely aligned with Jason's experience. Thanks for the insight. I'm still just in Dawnshore so I'm really excited to see what the rest of the game has to offer!
Killed him myself once I discovered what he had done to the Corps. Then I put the scepter in the robot and promised the voice they can have it when they are able to take control.
I killed Sargarmis… but gave the construct to The Voice. I LOVE this quest because it’s a prime example of the unparalleled writing at Obsidian - there’s no clear “good or bad” decision, and I’m still conflicted even after. I haven’t beaten it yet, so I don’t know how that will play out in the end 🥴
I took out sargamis when lying to him didnt work 😅 I like to think my envoy felt quite betrayed! Also destroyed the statue, even if the voice might be my god who is to say they aren't dangerous?
The real question is how in eora did Sargamis get his hands on THAT book 🤔...
Allowed Sargamis to go with his plan, then convinced him it won't work. Destroyed the statue. Sargamis is left there to help people of the living lands. I'm sure it'll go well.
i'm playing an envoy that is receptive to the living lands' influence and sympathetic to the voice, so i went along with everything but convinced sargamis to volunteer. afterward i looked up the other permutations to the quest and was impressed by the branching; wish i'd tried the overload
I killed Sargamis and destroyed the statue. It felt like my character would be deeply suspicious of anything to do with Eothas and want to claim the relic for Aedyr. I’ve ended up RPing this first playthrough (Arcane Scholar) as somebody whose whole life has been enmeshed in imperial structures…
& is thus aligned with imperial interests, even if she disagrees on certain policy. This has been fun in terms of forcing me to make choices I normally wouldn’t on a first playthrough, but also making me really think about my characters ideology so I’m not just having a bad time doing awful things.
Ended up not being able to convince Secgwin like I wanted, fought, then overloaded the machine.
This quest is a prime example of why I ❤️ the Obsidian teams though. Nothing quite feels "right," but a choice has to be made. Really enjoying Avowed thus far! ☺️
Killed Sargamis and destroyed the statue. My character doesn't approve manipulation of souls like Sargamis did by trapping the souls of those soldiers in the statue.

Then I (accidentally) destroyed it, but reloaded to before that.
