I don't get why determinism is still a thing some people wonder if its true. Determinism was disproved in the 2020 paper by T.C.N. Boekholt, et. al. "Gargantuan chaotic gravitational three-body systems and their irreversibility to the Planck length" from the U. of Santiago in Portugal Dpt. Physics

So kinda like: we *believe* we have free will. (But we don't, actually.) But the belief matters most, even though it's technically untrue?

Pretty much, yeah. think the universe seems pretty deterministic so a laplace’s demon type could predict a human’s actions, but that prediction is too computationally complex to be feasible in a practical sense

Yeah, as I got older, determinism actually now makes more sense to me than the alternatives? Like, if an effect doesn't have a cause, then *what* caused it?🤔
