Maybe a type changes upon evolution (the pre or the post evo) would be better?
Some pokemon change types, some dont, but it would give more options to be paired with other categories

I feel like there would be a lack of variety. It more or less would only be everything that got fairy in gen 6 und Magneton/Magnemite or am I missing something?

Rotom (or at least it's forms) also had its type changed in B/W. All its forms used to be Ele/Ghost, but B/W gave them their unique typings based on form.

E.g. Heat got Ele/Fire, Frost got Ele/Ice, Fan got Ele/Fly, etc.

Type has changed is cool. I'd also like if there was a category for "Evolves knowing a certain move", for mons like Yanmega, Mamoswine and Sylveon.

Also does Shedinja count as an item evolution? It requires a Pokeball to happen after all.

I think it's too limited.
I quite like the idea of a colour category though, because the official colours are ridiculous in some cases, like Grubbin is listed as grey despite being orange, yellow and white. Would be fun.

That'd be an interesting addition! Would pokemon like Magenemite/Magneton also be included since they gained the Steel type in Gen 2?
