Nobody exists in a bubble and we all form our opinions from what we take in and are exposed to. Heck, I'm pretty sure there is at least one Calvin and Hobbs strip that makes the same argument you are 🤷🏻♂️
There's a difference between taking in new ideas and processing them with your own brain, as opposed to hearing new ideas and just accepting them without question.
Given what we know about how brains take information in and form thoughts, it might not be as big a difference as our principles and beliefs would like to have us believe. Either way, the point is moot since we don't know which is the case in the original post.
That's fair. I guess I interpreted the post as having a sort of "this speaks for itself" implication, which I think can be a gateway towards lazy thinking.
Everyone is partially shaped by the things they're drawn to in childhood. You just form concepts by interacting with the world.
