Yeah, and the upshot of that is that less and less actual people use it, so that means more AI generated content, and so the spiral begins.

I used to love IG but it’s just reels of drunk people blowing stuff up in suburban America or Ukraine.

It used to be so simple - post a nice picture on there for your friends and family. Now it’s the core part of an influencers business model.

Everything boils down to - can I get rich from it.

I'm being taught Instagram at the moment, but for now I tend to use those for funsies only ATM and haven't really got any traction there, which is fine really.

I never "got" insta (pictures don't carry as much meaning for me as for many), and then it suited me not to, to stay away from Meta.

That's fair. Insta is my gf's money maker and she is of the opinion that I should be making more of it to drive engagement, because this is the 21st century. I'm not wholly convinced, but I'm not going to turn away the knowledge of someone who's been doing it that long and is that good at it.

The content on Threads is genuinely appalling. Genuinely. Multi thread stories that didn't happen by people who would be chased off here or Twitter in seconds. And their algorithm pumps it out to my eyes thinking I want to see it. Fucking useless.
