we need more sports fan energy in dem politics. no one shits on their own losing team more than sports fans. i dont understand why libs are so afraid of doing it

I have been blocked by around 30 "libs" for shitting on dems. "You can't make people lose confidence in our party." I'm not the one making people lose confidence - the election proved they already have. It's a wild wild world right now.
I've been ostracized by my liberal "friends" since before the election because they took any criticism of the Harris campaign as being pro-Trump. It's fucking stupid...
The unwavering party loyalty on both sides keeps this system in tact. It's terrifying. Did you know Rank Choice voting initiatives failed in every state where it was on the ballot? 😭🤦♀️ I don't think "we" actually want to end the 2 party system
After the loss, absolutely. There's no election on the horizon so they should be criticized as much as possible until they get their shit straight. But during the game? No, that's when you're supposed to dig in and support the team and that's where the left usually fails.
you should boo the team and staff when they allow a player who is no longer physically capable of swinging a bat to play the big game
dem leadership and libs on social media tried to gaslight us that the president was perfectly fine, and it took horrendously losing a debate for them to stop.
I agree, he should've stepped down and let a primary play out. And that's why the useless Dems need to be voted out in the primary process this time. But there isn't a candidate that can unite the left until the left realizes that perfect is the enemy of good.
Nobody is worried about "perfect," and the Democrats seem to care more about bipartisanship than "good." We need a big shift left to even approach "good" at this point.
You're conflating being oppositional and moving left. They're not mutually exclusive. We need them to completely drop any notion of bipartisanship. They need to be full opposition all the time, don't give any cover for the right. Shifting left is a different matter. A lot of moderates disagree.
as a sports fan I can report that no, people do not wait until after the game to boo players who are stinking it up on the field. after the game they go throw up in the parking lot.
On Reddit, if you criticize the Dems at all, you’re accused of being MAGA, third party voter, a child who doesn’t understand politics, etc by the ravenous Neo-liberals that dominate discourse there. This platform is the first I’ve seen open discourse on it if I’m honest.
I think the key difference is in the us and them of it. There's a lot of criticism of Dems I'd be glad to hear made in the first person but it hits different when it's always "their" fault.
I feel like I have to respectfully disagree. Sports fans are the most disconnected from reality people on Earth. Last year I talked with bona fide Detroit Pistons fans who thought the team would be a top 10 team in the league. They lost more games in a row than any team in any sport ever.
I really don't feel like "just make the magic thing that gives me exactly what I want happen and if you don't I'm gonna be mad at you" is the right medicine for what ails our body politic. That's what sports fans want, all the time.
It will come. Most needed a break after exhausting themselves last year and being grievously disappointed in the decision. Right now, they are licking their wounds. The wounds will heal, the lessons will be learned, and a new coalition will form around a new candidate in time.

Both parties really suck at doing anything good for the people.
dem leadership and libs on social media tried to gaslight us that the president was perfectly fine, and it took horrendously losing a debate for them to stop.
but the fucking gaslighting and pretending certainly hurt us badly!
