After almost 250 years what was once the Republican Party has found ways to defeat the checks & balances of the Constitution.
This a critical point we have failed to do, time & time again! What laws need to be updated or created to prevent some of what has happened?
The idea that you can pass laws and establish structures to make it safe to give fascists control of everything is absurd.
There must be SCOTUS term limits, and SCOTUS appointments to be made by their peers that are non-political.

I presume any laws you speak of mean anything like MAGA is outlawed. Thus anything that is the liberal counterpart is also outlawed. Anything else is double standards.
I know not what "FOTUS" means. I do know this writing laws so it never happens again will be virtually impossible. Any law written that allegedly supports making a Trumpesque presidency impossible will itself anti democracy. USA is a Democratic Republic as per USA's Constitution.
