I will also add great historians from Anneles School. Likes of Marc Bloch (Feudal Society), Fernand Braudel (Civilization and Capitalism), Jacques Le Goff (Medieval civilization, 400-1500) and Philippe Aries (Centuries of Childhood. A Social History of Family Life). I highly recommend all of them!

Ive read em all after playing through the game. Especially enjoyed Name of The Rose and the Faithful Executioner, I can definitely see where they left their mark on the game with the abbey, ideas of justice, etc. Good reads all of em
