Probably a lazy question on my part, but is there a study that breaks down the relative difference in costs between US and European transit construction costs? Like how much is due to wages, staffing requirements, permitting and zoning reviews etc?
The US is fundamentally incapable of building new metros. It couldn’t build a 1 mile airtrain to LaGuardia for under $2.4B or the 1 mile 3 stop Inglewood transporter.
