It's also quite interesting how while intl.ass operates in this third person-ish lens with broader world-building elements, it still results in a fairly self-contained framing for the story as Denji's arc as well as Aki's, it functions as a nice bridge between Bomb and Gun.

Reze entering the story seemingly to be the answer to his heart which Makima cuts off, referenced in the opening of intl.ass. The Enoshima trip with her becomes Denji's goal for the arc.

In the macro, we get the foreshadowing of what the Gun Devil represents through Reze's mission, Beam calls her an ally of Gun yet through Makima's explanation of her mission we learn that Bomb's actions primarily serve political interests.

And in turn ties into what Makima herself represents with the bounty on her head. That despite the scale of otherworldly horror in intl.ass it is at its core very much a human conflict orchestrated by humans.
