I worked a union job for 23 years, and trust me when I say the group as a whole got more radicalized as time when on. Even though they benefitted from a union, they hated UNIONS! I think the Right just does a better job at manipulating people. The DNC does not know how to do that.
That's also sad about the folk within your union. But I'm talking about the unions who backed Biden but refused to back Harris due to her policies (or lack of.) They didn't back Trump either. Harris just didn't wanna listen to Union leaders. 😕
Dem base tends to be better educated, more difficult to manipulate. But you shouldn't run based on how manipulative you are, instead just simply listening to your damn voter base. (Universal healthcare, abobo protections, no 💣🍉, etc) They know this too
dems still haven't learned a thing. did you see the weekly show with jon Stewart and hakeem jeffries? dems STILL absolutely refuse to support medicare for all. or even an expansion of it. jeffries genuinely believes the ACA is fine. his only legislative focus is to "defend" it.
I didn't, but I'm not surprised. Maybe we'll get lucky and the Dem socialist movement will gain even more traction... Assuming we'll even have elections in the future. 🥴
I’m not as hopeful that we will get any progress without some extreme suffering. Americans seem to hate helping each other. The last time we got any socialist programs through, was after the Great Depression and the end of Jim Crow. Having said that, my husband and I wont stop fighting.
the truth is there needs to be a violent alternative so that the social democracy, fdr style reforms are seen as the compromise to save the heads of the rich. because that's what it was last time
Defs don't stop fighting. I actually think people want to help, but there's been so much propaganda that words like "socialism" scares/enrages them. It's mindbaffling trying to educate but that's why things like mutual aids are radical cause they help dismantle that propaganda. Stay safe. 🖤
