Blackouts in CA are due to a poor grid, not energy production. PG&E was paid in every bill to maintain and develop the grid. They pocketed that money. Blackouts aren’t bc there isn’t enough energy. It’s because the power lines, poles, etc are ancient and outdated.

Only 11% of California's electricity was imported during the entire year of 2024. Of that at least 50% was wind-water-solar renewable electricity.

The supply did indeed soar. It did NOT however, prevent Edison and PG&E from requesting (and receiving) permission to raise rates. While also selling excess KW to other states like AZ and NV. This is why I fear the incoming admin with their promises of deregulation.
