I'm finding it a bit difficult as I'm not used to painting without a linework, I've been wanting to learn but so far I'm not really good at not bunching up when it's a bunch of strokes with no clear lines
You can definitely start with a line sketch if it helps to nail down the proportions better! Then just paint over it/hide the lines after the base colours are done
I find it helpful to think of the edges of different colour planes as a line myself
