Ahhhhh, but the last government were pro-innovation but big on safety. The fools! Safety! Safety doesn’t pay the bills! THIS government have reduced the safety bit to two pages out of 22 and turbocharged the economy or something.

It was certainly a rather mixed message at times - hard de-regulatory posturing on the one hand, while also boasting of being the safest place on the planet for AI. But in terms of action, there really wasn't any regulatory action to speak of.
It’s really challenging with these four year terms. C.f. China’s 50+ year long term plans.
