I hardly agree, streaming has cheapened the value of music so much and reduced it to a fast consumed product instead of a passionate art from. it has its many benefits of course but the negatives severely outweigh those.

Streaming itself isn't the problem, it's the fact that Spotify is allowed to basically steal the artists' money on top of what the labels already steal.

It's a double-edged sword. If spotify pays artists more, the service would be more expensive. We already know people hate when spotify up's their prices.

They don't need to increase prices. Their profit margins need to come down. They're making outrageous amounts of money at the artists' expense.

Bjork was actually very supportive of the digital sharing of music. her 2001 album vespertine was specifically designed to be shared online on websites like napster as mp3s without losing its quality. but i guess she never imagined it would turn into this.

It's definitely introduced a "sameness" to pop music that has further stifled creatives. It's also extremely hard for artists to make money off their own work.
